Major Press Coverage

• Surprise: An attentive Spiegel Online reader has discovered an article with travel tips for autumn, which begins with an enthusiastic recommendation of Michaelshof: “If you ask Elisabeth Frenz where the perfect place is to end the summer on the Elbe, the Hamburg native immediately has a tip ready: “At Michaelshof Sammatz, a meeting place in Wendland that is more of a village than a farm. I could spend days here – at any time of the year”. Two paragraphs tell of the place with such verve that one really feels like going there.

We are very happy about the great appreciation!

At the beginning of August there was an article in the HAZ (Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung) with the inviting title “The Michaelshof in Wendland is a paradise and costs no entrance fee”, which has inspired many people to visit us.

We know, of course, that Sammatz is imperfect at every turn and in need of improvement (therefore far from being a paradise). But we think that this refers to a certain atmosphere in nature and around the place, which also pleases us ourselves. If others experience this in a similar way – wonderful!

We’re online!

Whatsapp Message, Martin, Wednesday, 8:02: “We are online.” ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Done! The Michaelshof online shop is now there for you – from the website to the warehouse and shipping. A changing team has done a lot for this in the last months – many thanks to all of you! There is quite a bit of heart and soul and a few hours of work in it 😉

We ask you, dear customers, for committed purchases, of course, and also for feedback, suggestions for improvement and a little indulgence if there are any hitches at the beginning. It’s our turn!

By the way, there is a 10% discount on the first order – and those who subscribe to the newsletter will be kept up to date on special offers, new products etc.

And for all those who don’t know it yet: All profits from the shop go to support the Michaelshof Volunteering – the opportunity for young people from all over the world to learn in Sammatz, to gain experience, to take ideas with them – for an ecological, social and peaceful world! One more reason to go shopping right away!

Off to a new school year

Our small special school in the neighbouring village of Wietzetze is officially entering its second year – after opening in February 2020, this is now the first ‘real’ school year.

Every morning at a quarter to eight, children from our Peronnik child and youth welfare centre and the first “external” pupils arrive at the school, which is set up in a beautiful old farm house, and can look forward to lessons tailored to their needs.

Selma Lagerlöf School – named after the Nobel Prize winning author of ‘Nils Holgersson’, who was herself a teacher – is a special school for emotional & social development (in Germany: Förderbedarf E/S) and still accepts pupils.
