Our children’s paradise

The heart of our children’s paradise is the ‘Kunterbunt’ playground. Its name is, of course, is because its radiates all colours that can make a child’s heart happy. The great play equipment shines in blue, purple and pink, in yellow and green, red and turquoise.

There is something for everyone: for the little ones, the super-long Euro-Express, our railroad offers many opportunities to play with a top that you can slide down from; plus animal and boat swings, seesaws and other slides as well as a huge sandbox for making mud balls, with which you can splash around a bit :D.
The mobile kindergarten, or the ‹Villa Himmelblau›, houses a group of children who are looked after by mothers of our initiative.

For the slightly older children – that goes up to teenagers and adults! – above all, there is a small football field and a beach volleyball facility, which is also used by our volunteers. The older children climb enthusiastically onto the highest point of the playground, a tower that can only be reached by a spider web or a rope and from which a bright yellow tube slide descends. Also popular with younger and older people is the round, ground-level trampoline, from which you can hop far into the air. There is hardly anyone who does not leave the playground in a good mood!

The children’s paradise extends from its heart, the playground with its small animal enclosure, to the entirety of Michaelshof: immediately across the street is the Arche-Hof with its many old domestic breeds, where pigs and goats, sheep, cows and horses, donkeys and the different types of poultry are to be admired. Especially the offspring – calves, piglets and others – delight the children’s hearts. But even the adult animals can be admired from close up and give especially the children who grew up in the city formative new impressions. Believe it or not, some only now know that cows are not purple in colour as in the Milka advertising. 😀

If you are lucky here, you can see how the animals start their grazing every day in summer. Such a herd of cows can make an impressive impression. If you keep your distance, nothing can happen. Also, there are always employees who trot the animals across the yard. Carriage rides with donkeys or horses are also offered in summer.

Another walk through our beautiful gardens leads past some fountains, two bird aviaries and impressive wooden figures. The paths usually lead to our Café am Michaelshof, also a small paradise for children and adults. Delicious organic ice cream, yummy cakes and juices are on offer here. The garden café offers plenty of space for everyone in the summer, and in the darker months you can enjoy one or two delicacies in the cozy café, with a small play area for the children.

Oh yes, now we’ve forgotten the Hofladen, where you can have a good shop: our own products and much more are healthy, delicious, and of course organic. Also milk, bread, vegetables and cheese and everything else that is on offer, fresh and crisp over the counter. At home there will be some memories of beautiful hours spent at Michaelshof!
